Imaginary Island Puzzle (#IIP1)
The Imaginary Island Puzzle teaches land and water form vocabulary while allowing students to create beautiful islands of their own design. There are infinite possibilities! A river system can flow into a delta or into a gulf, a mountain range can border a desert, and a glacier can be bordered by fiords: each piece is specially designed to allow matching to any others. Vocabulary is given on the reverse of the puzzle pieces, and the pieces are staged in four levels of difficulty: students can start with the first set and build up to a full 84-piece island using all four sets together.
The Imaginary Island Puzzle comes complete with a hand-crafted, wooden storage box, a supplement kit of various items to use with the puzzle, and command cards to encourage practice of many important skills.
The Imaginary Island Puzzle is available only through Mandala Classroom Resources.
