Sentence Analysis Templates: $8 each or 5 for $35.00

 Our newest material: these clear plastic templates (2" x 5-1/8") were designed to allow students to more easily practice analyzing sentences. The templates include all of the grammar symbols and direction arrows students need to determine the relationships of the subject, direct object, indirect object, modifiers and attributives of a sentence. Symbols are arranged on the template in order of most frequent use, and a grip-section is provided on both sides. Each order comes with a diagram that identifies each symbol.

This set of 22 masters provides a simple yet essential step in grammar mastery: practice. Phrases begin with articles, adjectives, and nouns, then become sentences with verbs and prepositions. The student is exposed to a variety of sentence structures, to words used as several parts of speech, and to challenging fun.

Each page in this set includes a group of phrases or sentences (usually 10 to 12) with space above to allow for symbolizing using a grammar template. Also included in the series are several delightful review sheets, and a worksheet for the student to provide his or her own words for the parts of speech as extra practice.

This three-part package offers short excerpts from classic and contemporary children's literature for use in the classroom in grammar analysis. Using a template of the grammar symbols, the students trace the symbols above the words as they study sections of such works as Our Home is the Sea, The Black Stallion, Charlotte's Web, Rascal and more. Each selection is provided in triple-spaced form on its own page. The teacher uses the master set to provide work papers for each child on his or her own level.

Excerpts are carefully selected to represent the style and content of each book while providing exercises that can be successfully analyzed using the nine grammatical symbols. Answer keys (reduced size) are provided.

The book form of Mandala's Literature for Grammar offers the same simple literature passages for grammatical analysis and on opposing pages provides a series of questions about each passage. These charts are printed in full color on laminated, no-glare poster weight paper, ready to mount on the classroom wall. The grammar symbols are listed in an easily referenced format.

Level One (6-9): Each of the nine basic parts of speech and its symbol is followed by an example from a sentence. The sentence builds as the chart progresses; the new part of speech is italicized.

Level Two (9-12): Each of the second level grammar symbols provides a quick, expanded student and teacher reference, particularly to the kinds of nouns and verbals.

 This laminated chart guides the student independently through a series of questions for grammatical analysis. By answering "yes"'or "no" to questions about a word being analyzed, the student is led to the function of the word and its part of speech.
