Consulting Services
Teacher Support:
Do you want to offer more consistent support to your teachers from a strong Montessori base? Do you have staff development needs that are not being met? We now offer teacher support services to Montessori schools with several options:- Formal Evaluation: We will choose an evaluation tool that works for you, observe teachers, and provide complete, written reports. Annual or bi-annual.
- Mentoring: We will partner with a teacher to provide additional support in method, language, preparation, class management, or curriculum enhancement, as needed. Time commitment negotiable.
- Staff Development: Let us organize a staff development event around a particular need: curriculum, student assessment, behavior, special needs children, material-making and more. We’ll do the preparation, the presentation, and the written summary for you.
- Paraprofessional Workshop: We offer a half-day workshop for assistants, interns and substitutes that provides a focused philosophy overview and in-depth discussion of the role of the adult in the Montessori classroom.
Materials Support:
Do you need help setting up a new classroom or beginning a new class level? Do you have gaps in classroom materials or lesson plans that you don’t know how to fill? We now offer consulting services to meet all of these needs:- Starter Inventory: After an initial consultation, we will provide an inventory of needed materials, sources, and prices in a 1-, 2-, or 3-year setup schedule for your new classroom or new class level.
- Materials Review: We will inventory a classroom’s materials to uncover gaps, hold a consultation with the teacher, and provide a suggestion list for enhancement materials for a more complete classroom array.
- Demonstrations (elementary only): Taking a particular curriculum area that needs attention, we will demonstrate scope and sequence, materials use and extensions to give teachers the confidence they need to teach areas in which they may feel less comfortable, or to expand their curriculum in new directions.
- Design Workshop (elementary only): In this 3-hour staff workshop we will introduce methods, materials and concepts of Montessori material-making to inspire beautiful and functional additions to classroom inventories.
Strategic Planning
Are you in need of a Strategic Plan for your school, or a closer look at your current plan? Do you have a Vision Statement that reflects your school’s short-term plans and a Mission Statement that reflects the mission of all of your constituents? Mandala Classroom Resources now offers consulting services for these important efforts.- Mission Statement: In an evening meeting, we will guide you in the creation of a Mission Statement that reflects your primary nature, the needs of your families, and the outcomes you seek. Each school is different: we’ll help you honor your unique school’s mission with a clear and effective process.
- Vision Workshop: Working with a task force of members of your school’s board, administration, staff and parents, we will lead one or two working meetings to brainstorm where you would like to be in the next 5 or 7 years, and to craft a Vision Statement to use as a working document.
- Strategic Planning Consult: We offer an intensive 3-hour workshop with board members and/or administration to shape the elements of a Strategic Plan and to draft an implementation plan that will work well for your school.
Accreditation Support
Is your school preparing for accreditation or re-accreditation by the American Montessori Society?Mandala now offers consulting services to AMS schools in the Southeast region for your accreditation process. Choose from among the following services:
- Self-Study Teamwork: Add an electronic and/or personal consultant to your team to gain perspective, broaden your vision, and help write an effective report. Add experience and impartiality at the level you wish: full partner, periodic partner, draft writing partner, or on-line editor.
- Energy Audit Consulting: Add depth to the energy audit your school must perform. Working with representatives of the board, staff and parents, we’ll assess the synergies and entropies particular to your school and help you compile the results into a complete and dynamic presentation for the accreditation site visit team.
- Outcomes Evaluation: Get help assessing the student outcomes used at your school. We’ll review your measures of outcomes, work with you to evaluate their effectiveness, and develop new models if needed.
